Artist Statement

These textiles use various experimental print processes, including the embossed, bonded and crush-prints developed for Issey Miyake in 1990/1, whihc have subsequently been utilised by various companies, including Hishinuma, Prada, etc. Recent work addresses the interface of digital and experimental screen print processes, teasing out the tensions of virtual and actual reality on textile substrate. This work, largely for commissioned interior installations and exhibition, exploits qualities of translucent glazes, embossed textures, patinations and imagery derived from a range of sources (see Telos Portfolio Collection, Norma Starszakowna)
